THE GABOR M SZŐKE STUDIO
The Gábor M Szőke Studio was established in 2014, when the internationally acclaimed sculptor, Gábor Miklós Szőke and his partner found a neglected 100-year-old brick building, which functioned as an indoor skateboarding park at the time. The couple fell in love with the special atmosphere of the Csepel Művek right away, formerly the largest machine factory in Hungary, located on the island of Csepel in the southern part of Budapest. Following the artist’s designs and together with his team, they re-did the interior and the facades of the old industrial building constructing a grandiose conference room, office space and a showroom. In the beginning, the studio served as a work shop as well. This is where Gábor Miklós Szőke’s iconic sculpture, The Atlanta Falcon was made, which is the largest avian sculpture in the world located tens of thousands of kilometers away in front of the main entrance of Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the 2019 Super Bowl. The last works, which were constructed here, were for the FINA Water World Championships: six monumental public sculptures, which symbolized the six water sports of the championships, and they even appeared in the promotional video of the event, which was broadcast in 66 countries. Every single detail of the studio has a unique design. Furniture, sculptures and paintings created by Gábor Miklós Szőke enrich the exceptional ambience of the hall, which won the Design Office of the Year Award. The 500-square-meter space is suitable for all kinds of premium events, which differ from the usual: be it a car launch, a private dinner, or an elegant wedding. The founders of the Gábor M Szőke Studio offer custom-made solutions for every event. It is possible to get a glimpse into the artistic world of Gábor Miklós Szőke.
