THE CHINESE DRAGON

Kazincbarcika, Hungary

The Chinese Dragon was designed by Gábor Miklós Szőke in the framework of a cooperation between the city of Kazincbarcika and Chinese-owned Borsodchem, the biggest chemical factory in Hungary. The dragon is very popular among the locals, they also organized a festival for the inauguration. Similarly to the artist’s other wooden creations, the outdoor sculpture has a metal skeleton in order to be resistant to changing weather conditions and to provide stability for the artwork.
